Science Daily reports on InSight Technology on the 29th of January, 2014.
The website Science Daily reports on how the InSight Technology has been applied to the studying of the inflammatory process that occurs in the pancreas during type 1 diabetes. Unlike other non-invasive techniques such as PET and MRI, the InSight technology enables in vivo monitoring of the development and behaviour of the pancreatic islets on an individual cell level. This has offered a unique opportunity for researchers at Lund University to study how the immune system is reacting when the islets are attacked by invading inflammatory cells, and creates new possibilities to evaluate different treatment strategies.
